In what was one of the most exciting and well attended games of the major season, Landry’s Sporting Goods defeated the Gangi Builders to take home the Major League Championship, 11-10 in the top of the 6th.  The game was a classic slug-fest with both teams hitting throughout the batting order.  Gangi drew first blood in the top of the first when Will Lombardo hit a double deep to right field off Tanner Dunning and scored on Zach Burch’s RBI single.  With 11 year-old pitcher Lombardo at the helm for Gangi, Landry’s tied it up in the bottom of the inning scoring Greg Stupakis on a Chase Sanford single.  After that, Gangi went up in the 2nd and held the lead until Landry’s took it back in the bottom of the 3rd.  The Builders took back the lead in the top of the 4th and Landry’s took it back in the bottom. After getting put out in his first two at-bats, a long solo home run by Tanner Dunning in the bottom of the 5th put Landry’s up 11-8.  Gangi scored two in the top of the 6th but came up short, with the winning run at the plate after a pop fly to the shortstop recorded the games final out.  Congratulations to both teams on a great season and on advancing to the Tri-Cities Tournament.
