With a record of 11 wins, 1 loss, and 2 ties, the Black Belts finished at the top of a talented 8-team Crescenta Valley minor league division. Led by the stellar batting, catching & pitching of Jake De La Hoya, the "Flame Thrower" pitching skills winner Ty Langford, the extra bases hitting of Max De La Torre, Gregory Walsh and Daniel Ham, the Black Belts were in the driver seat all season long. Last year's title winner, DCG, came on strong in the second half to challenge and MCMS played the Belts to two ties, but it was not enough keep the Team from achieving their goal of winning the League title. The Black Belts were helped by excellent pitching from Ty Langford, Jake De La Hoya, Max De La Torre, Justin Parrott, Greg Walsh, and Harrison Woo (also the CV "Speed Burner" skills winner). Tyler Cendejas provided a "wall" at short stop, Daniel Ham was a sensation at first base, Jason Lee played positions all over the field and the top notch outfielding of Diego Enslow, Matthew and Donovan Ynda and Raffi Hairapetian rounded out an overall excellent team of boys who played their hearts out all season long.
