ROOKIE LEAGUEOn behalf of the CVLL community I would like to welcome each one of our players and their families to the 2010 Spring Rookie division for 4 year old boys and girls. The Rookie Division is a non-competitive, skills and knowledge developing league and is meant to serve as a fun and educational introductory baseball experience. Our season will kick off this Saturday, February 20th with an introductory practice and a parent orientation meeting. The event will take place at Glorietta Park (2801 N. Verdugo Blvd. , Glendale) and will start at 11:00 a.m. and will go until 12:00 p.m. An other practice and parent orientation meeting will be held next Saturday March 6rom 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Your children have been assigned to a team and will start the season participating in a series of clinics taught by CVLL coaches and special guest coaches where they will be working on developing baseball skills and knowledge. As the season proceeds and the players skills improve they will graduate up to playing games against the other teams in the league. We welcome parents who would like to help as a coach or team coordinator. If you would like to participate in the Rookie Division please fill out a volunteer application which can be done electronically via the CVLL website (www.cvlittleleague.com) and needs to be accompanied by a photocopy of your driver’s license – which can be brought to the orientation meeting or submitted via e-mail. CVLL’s opening night is March 19th and your teams will participate in the Opening Ceremonies so keep that date open. Make up Picture day is set for March 7th at Montrose Park. In the event of rain or inclement weather you will be notified via e-mail or check the CVLL website (www.cvlittleleague.com) for up to date information on field conditions and game or practice cancellations. More information will be available at the Practice and Parent Orientation meeting this and next weekend, and additional information and schedules will be sent out via email as soon as that information is made available. |
